"...Te incluyo aquí un pequeño croquis de una tela de 30 cuadrada, por fin, el cielo estrellado pintado en la noche misma bajo una luz de gas. El cielo es azul verde; el agua es azul real, los terrenos malva. La ciudad es azul y violeta; la luz del gas es amarilla y los reflejos son oro rojo y descienden hasta el bronce verde. En el campo azul verde del cielo, la Osa Mayor tiene un resplandor verde y rosa, cuya discreta palidez contrasta con el oro rudo del gas.

"...Including a small scketch of a 30 square canvas - in short starry painted by night actually under a gas jet. The sky is aquamarine, the water is royal blue, the ground is mauve. The town is blue and purple. The gas is yellow and the reflections are russet gold descending down to green-bronze. On the aquamarine field of the sky the Great Bear is sparkling green and pink, whose discreet paleness contrasts with the brutal gold of gas. Two colorurful figurines of lovers in the foreground..."
